30 feet long by 20 feet high. The first mural ever commissioned on-site at The Westin Rancho Mirage. A celebration of the Coachella Valley landscape and native wildlife. Michael painted a dramatic sunset illuminating the San Jacinto Mountains during a lush super bloom. The existing tile medallion transforms into a bursting desert sunflower—echoing how the sun explodes in the desert. Statues of a flying burrowing owl, tortoise, and jackrabbit—all indigenous to the Coachella Valley—give an edge and harken to Desert X. The sign "Give In To The Desert" adds a pop of mid-century modern aesthetic, honoring Palm Springs history. The mural invites viewers to immerse themselves, explore, and behold the magical wonders of the region. Design to fabrication—entirely ours.
